Privacy notice
Who we are
S.G Auto Repairs is an independent vehicle repair business at Workshop 22, Shoreham Cement Works, Upper Beeding, BN44 3TX. For data protection purposes, S.G Auto Repairs is the controller of personal information collected through this website.
What information we collect
When you make an enquiry we may collect your vehicle registration, the service or repair you need, information you provide about the vehicle problem, whether the vehicle is driveable, how urgently you need help, your name, telephone number and optional email address.
Why we use your information
We use this information to understand and respond to your enquiry, discuss garage services with you, arrange work where requested and keep appropriate business records.
Our lawful basis
We process enquiry information where it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, to perform a contract where work is agreed, and where appropriate for our legitimate interests in responding to customer enquiries and operating the garage.
Marketing
Information submitted through the enquiry assistant is not used for electronic marketing unless you separately ask or agree to receive marketing communications.
Who receives your information
Your enquiry is intended for S.G Auto Repairs. We may use trusted service providers to host the website and deliver enquiry emails. These providers process information only as needed to provide those services.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with your enquiry, provide garage services and meet relevant business, accounting or legal requirements. Information that is no longer required should be securely deleted.
Security
The website uses HTTPS. Enquiry delivery is handled server-side so mailbox credentials and email service credentials are not exposed in the public website code.
Analytics and cookies
The website can record basic interaction events needed to understand how visitors use key features, such as starting the enquiry assistant or clicking a contact option. The current tracking layer does not intentionally place non-essential advertising or analytics cookies or include enquiry names, telephone numbers, email addresses, vehicle registrations or free-text enquiry details. If a third-party analytics or advertising service is enabled later, the privacy and cookie arrangements will be reviewed before deployment.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict use of your personal information, object to certain processing, or request transfer of information. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
